Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang forced through his January move to Arsenal last season, according to former Borussia Dortmund boss Peter Stoger, talkSPORT reports.
Aubameyang scored 98 goals in 144 Bundesliga games whilst at Borussia Dortmund, but sealed a switch to North London to join up with the Gunners in the January of last season.
Arsenal paid £56million to land the Gabon striker with Stoger now stating that Dortmund were forced into selling the star after he refused to train properly with the club.
Stoger, who was Dortmund manager between December and May last season, spoke to German newspaper Bild regarding the striker’s transfer:
He trained well four days of the week.
But to underline his wish for a transfer, he skipped team meetings before games or refused to run during the final training.
We did our best to keep him for at least another half a year, but Auba wasn’t ready for that.
He left me no other choice.
