Zielinski confirms contract talks as new Napoli deal looms

Arsenal target and Napoli midfield maestro Piotr Zielinski has confirmed he is closing in on a new contract in Italy.

After months of speculation, Zielinski has been quoted by Football Italia explaining that an agreement over a new deal at the club is close.

I think we’ll reach a deal soon. Negotiations are ongoing between my entourage and the club. Napoli are asking for a pretty high release clause and I think we’ll reach a deal soon.

The Polish midfielder has been heavily linked with moves to Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea in recent months.

Serie A giants Juventus were also believed to be keeping a close eye on his contract situation.

Zielinski, who is very highly thought of in Italy, has long been linked with a move to the Premier League, but Napoli have been keen to ensure that the player does not leave on the cheap.

Concerns over the player’s wage demands and the release clause that was to be included in the deal have been the sticking point in negotiations, but the two parties appear to have come to some agreement.
