# Monreal and Kolasinac expected to be fit for Liverpool game

Unai Emery is set to be handed a major fitness boost with both Nacho Monreal and Sead Kolasinac expected to return to the squad to face Liverpool.

[James Benge of the London Evening Standard reports](https://twitter.com/jamesbenge/status/1056531889736040449?s=21) that both players are likely to recover from their respective injuries in time for Saturday’s game.

The news will come as a huge boost for Emery, who has been forced to use Granit Xhaka as a makeshift left-back recently with varying degrees of success.

The left-back position has been something of a problem area for Emery this season, with Monreal struggling with injuries.

Xhaka slotted in at left-back against Crystal Palace over the weekend and despite scoring a well-taken goal, the Swiss struggled defensively.

Monreal has not featured for the Gunners since the victory at Fulham, while Kolasinac has been out of action following an injury sustained during a Europa League game against Qarabag.
