AS Monaco have joined the race to sign Arsenal target Nicolo Barella from Cagliari in January, according to claims from the French media, as cited by Calciomercato.
The Ligue 1 giants are believed to have expressed an interest in landing Barella ahead of the January transfer window, with the player becoming increasingly sought after.
Arsenal have been heavily linked with the Italy international, who has established himself as an important part of Cagliari’s plans for both the present and the future.

Barella is a crucial member of Cagliari’s first-team and it’s unlikely that the Serie A club would welcome his sale in January. However, it seems interest is building ahead of the mid-season transfer window.
Barella, 21, has made 10 starts in Serie A this season and has found the net on one occasion.
Arsenal are already well-stocked in the middle of the park following the summer acquisitions of Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi. However, it seems Barella is a player who has impressed them, with Monaco now also interested.
