Iwobi lauds ‘world class’ Ozil

Arsenal winger Alex Iwobi lavished praise on ‘world class’ teammate Mesut Ozil following the German’s display in Monday night’s 3-1 win against Leicester City.

Ozil was given the captain’s armband for his side’s encounter with the Foxes and stepped up to the mark, turning in a standout display as Arsenal made it 10 wins on the bounce in all competitions.

The former Germany international was in inspired form and levelled the scoring in the first half with a well-taken effort. He then played a key part in Arsenal’s next goal before deftly assisting Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s second strike of the match.

As reported by Goal, Gunners star Iwobi was quick to heap praise on his teammate following the win at the Emirates Stadium, insisting that Ozil remains a top quality player.

I have been training with him since I was 17 and I have seen what he can do. The quality he has is not just in training. He is a world-class player and he proved that again last night. He gives me advice in a different way.

He jokes around but always tells me I can do more – even last night, he was saying I can do more, he is always one of those guys.

Iwobi himself has been enjoying his football in recent times and has flourished under the new management of Unai Emery.

Mesut will come across as laid back but he is helping everyone in a different way and he helps me a lot.

Arsenal fans will be hoping that attacking duo Iwobi and Ozil can continue to perform in an impressive fashion, with the club looking to continue their winning streak.
