Arsenal manager Unai Emery has been explaining Nacho Monreal’s omission from the starting line-up against Leicester City.

Our team once more: Leno, Bellerin, Holding, Mustafi, Lichtsteiner, Torreira, Xhaka, Mkhitaryan, Ozil, Iwobi, Lac… https://t.co/IKRqwqkZSx (@Arsenal)
The experienced Spaniard was expected to start at left-back against the Foxes following his involved role in the Arsenal first-team under Emery in the early stages of the season.
However, there was no sign of Monreal in the starting line-up or the bench for Monday night’s clash at the Emirates, with Emery informing Sky Sports, as reported by Metro, that the player is nursing a minor injury.

Sead Kolasinac is the natural deputy to Monreal but the Bosnian international is also sidelined with an injury, forcing Emery to field Stephan Lichtsteiner in an unfamiliar position on the left-hand side of the defence.
We have today problems with two left-backs with Sead Kolasinac and with Nacho Monreal. It’s small injuries for two players but we have players to replace and for now with Lichtsteiner who can play also in the left and to want not to change either our style but it’s clear that different players playing in this left back.
Arsenal have confirmed via Twitter that Monreal’s absence owes to a tight hamstring, indicating that the defender’s problem is not major.
