# Emery set to be given £40m transfer budget in the summer

Unai Emery is expected to have just £40 million to spend in the summer transfer window, [according to a report from the Telegraph](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2018/10/17/arsenal-supporters-trust-will-voice-concerns-chairman-expected/).

The report claims that because of the expected financial loss that Arsenal are set to face, the Gunners are going to be forced into some tight spending in the coming months.

Arsenal have been hit hard by the lack of Champions League football and the added revenue that the competition brings.

The Gunners have also shelled out big contracts to likes of Mesut Ozil and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang during recent windows.

Such financial constraints are believed to be playing in a big factor in the decision to let Aaron Ramsey leave the club, rather than meet his huge wage demands.

While £40 million remains a huge amount of money, in today’s market that is likely to limit the pool of players that Emery will be able to pursue in the summer.
