Wenger warns Arsenal over Ramsey deal

Arsene Wenger has warned Arsenal over the ongoing contract dispute with star midfielder Aaron Ramsey, the Mirror reports.

The Welshman is out of contract with the Gunners at the end of the season and is looking increasingly likely to leave the Emirates as a free agent next summer.

Liverpool and Chelsea are being heavily linked with the midfielder’s services, whilst Serie A giants Juventus are also believed to be interested.

It was believed that the Gunners were close to tying Ramsey down to a new deal before surprisingly withdrawing their contract offer.

However, former Gunners boss Wenger now believes that it is Ramsey that holds ll the power and has warned his old club.

Asked if he would give Ramsey a new deal, Wenger said:

We tried that before and it still can happen.

I don’t really know what’s happening at Arsenal. Sure, Aaron Ramsey is in a strong position now and he will use this position.

But I don’t know how far Arsenal will go in terms of giving him a huge contract. These things were once my responsibility, but not anymore. I’m happy about that.
