Sead Kolasinac will not play for Bosnia-Herzegovina during the international break after Arsenal requested that he didn’t feature for his national side, the Metro reports.
Kolasinac, 25, missed the start of the Gunners’ season with a knee injury but returned to the side for the 3-0 Europa League win over Qarabag last week.
The defender had been called up to the Bosnia-Herzegovina squad for their games against Turkey and Northern Ireland but the country’s Football Federation have now confirmed that Kolasinac won’t play.
Arsenal boss Unai Emery requested that Kolasinac remain in England to continue his recovery from his knee injury.
Kolasinac was criticised for his performance against Qarabag by former Arsenal defender Martin Keown.
Kolasinac is a player who wants to go forward but he doesn’t want to defend.
He really was a weakness for Arsenal.
But he’s not been in the group, he’s not been in the back for, and he’s not picked up the message of what the manager is looking for.
