Bayern Munich enter the race to sign Arsenal target Pepe
German Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich have entered the race to sign Arsenal target Nicolas Pepe from French Ligue 1 side Lille, according to a report on Talksport.
Arsenal have been keeping a close eye on the forward for some time now along with fellow Premier League club Manchester United, but Bayern Munich are reportedly also interested in securing his signature.
The German club have made a poor start to the season and are eager to strengthen their squad in the January transfer window, with Pepe now emerging as one of their top targets.
With Arsenal forward Danny Welbeck’s contract expiring at the end of the season, the Gunners are on the lookout for a potential replacement, with the club looking increasingly unlikely to hand Welbeck a new deal.
The 23-year-old has started the season in fine fashion for Lille, finding the back of the net six times nine league appearances.
The forward has been valued at around £30m by Lille but if he continues his fine form, that price could increase.
