Smith Rowe rejected Chelsea, Spurs and Barcelona to stay at Arsenal

Chelsea, Tottenham and Barcelona all failed in moves to sign Emile Smith Rowe as a youngster, according to reports.

According to The Telegraph, Chelsea, Tottenham and Barcelona all made approaches to sign the player as a 15-year-old.

Chelsea had reportedly spotted the player as a youngster but he was firm in his decision to remain at Arsenal.

Smith Rowe was keen to break through at Arsenal and make it all the way to the first-team, something he has done this season at the age of 18.

After catching the eye during pre-season, Emery has been keen to give Smith Rowe as many minutes as possible.

The midfielder drew comparisons to a young Jack Wilshere with a brilliantly-taken goal against Atletico Madrid over the summer.

He was handed his first-team debut in the Carabao Cup earlier this season and has also been involved in the Europa League.

Emery has never hidden his intention to bring youngsters through at the club and Smith Rowe could be the first of many.
