Sevilla are considering the possibility of giving midfielder Ever Banega a contract extension to fend off interest from Arsenal, according to reports.
New Gunners boss Unai Emery is a big fan of Banega and knows him well as the pair worked together in Seville and he’s keen to bring the Argentinian to the Emirates, either in January or next summer.
The 30-year-old’s current deal with Sevilla expires in the summer of 2020, but the La Liga side are weighing up their options as they consider whether to give an extension now to fend off Arsenal.

Banega has been an instrumental part of Sevilla’s recent successes and by all accounts, he’s happy there. However, the chance to play in the Premier League under his former boss could tempt the Argentine star to make a move.
However, Sevilla will at least try to protect his value by offering him an extension to his current deal.
