Arsenal to reignite interest in Ipswich teenager

Arsenal are set to battle rivals Tottenham Hotspur in an attempt to bring highly rated Ipswich Town teenager Andre Dozzell to the Premier League, the Daily Mirror report.

The 19-year-old has recently returned to the first-team squad after a 13-month lay-off with a cruciate knee ligament injury, and started his first match for the Tractor Boys on Saturday against Swansea City, in what was Ipswich’s first win of the season.

The son of former Ipswich and Tottenham star, Jason, Andre made his debut for the club at the age of 16, after coming through Town’s academy, scoring a header at Hillsborough against Sheffield Wednesday.

Since then, the talented teenager hasn’t featured as much as he’d have liked at Portman Road, making just the 13 appearances during three years with the club.

The 19-year-old was also part of the England side that lifted the UEFA
European Under-19 Championship last year, featuring in four matches.

Seemingly a star for the future, Arsenal and Spurs will more than likely be sending scouts to Suffolk in the coming weeks, with the possibility of bringing the midfielder to the club in January.
