Napoli are preparing to offer Piotr Zielinski a lucrative new contract, amid reports linking Arsenal with a swoop for the midfielder.
It was previously claimed that the Gunners had identified the Poland international as a potential replacement for Aaron Ramsey, with Unai Emery already making contingency plans.
Ramsey appears to be all but set to depart the Emirates Stadium in the near future, as his contract approaches its expiration at the end of the season.

However, the Gunners could be dealt a blow in their apparent pursuit of Zielinski, with reports from Italy indicating that a financially convincing deal is being put on the table by Napoli.
According to Rai Sport, as cited in a report from Calciomercato, the offer on the table will see Zielinski’s wages double, with Napoli keen to stress the midfielder’s importance to their plans for the future.
It’s also believed that a buyout clause worth €100 million will be inserted in Zielinski’s new contract, should he choose to extend his stay at the Stadio San Paolo.
