# Arsenal have scouted Benfica goalkeeper Odisseas Vlachodimos

Arsenal reportedly sent scouts to watch Odisseas Vlachodimos in action for Benfica in their recent Champions League clash with Bayern Munich.

According to a report from Portuguese news outlet [Record](https://www.record.pt/futebol/futebol-nacional/liga-nos/benfica/detalhe/vlachodimos-foi-espiado-na-luz-e-o-bayern-segue-o-ha-anos?ref=Sp.%20Covilh%C3%A3_2BlocoAreasemDestaques), a host of clubs from across Europe were in attendance for the encounter, with Vlachodimos specifically eyed by the Gunners.

The German goalkeeper has cemented his place in the Benfica starting line-up this season and appears to have caught the eye of several prestigious clubs, with the likes of Bayern Munich and Manchester United also having been linked.

Vlachodimos could not help his Benfica side to a positive result against Bayern in their opening group stage fixture, however, as they were consigned to a 2-0 home defeat.

Arsenal’s goalkeeping situation has come under scrutiny in recent weeks, with veteran shot-stopper Petr Cech continuing to feature instead of summer recruit Bernd Leno.

It would, therefore, come as a surprise to see them swoop for yet another goalkeeper in Vlachodimos, given the existing quality in depth they are blessed with.

Nevertheless, with the 24-year-old continuing to impress and improve, interest appears to be building ahead of upcoming transfer windows.
