# Arsenal eye West Ham teenager Rice

Arsenal are one of a number of clubs interested in signing West Ham defender-cum-midfielder Declan Rice, according to [The Gambling Times](https://www.thegamblingtimes.com/2018/09/26/declan-rice-has-plethora-of-premier-league-options/).

The 19-year old Ireland international, who has seen himself in the media regularly over the past few months on account of him potentially switching international allegiances to England, has yet to start a game this season under Manuel Pellegrini.

Rice, who can play as both a centre half and as a defensive midfielder, started 15 times last season in what was his breakthrough campaign.

However he hasn’t been so fortunate this season, and with his current deal set to expire in the summer, Rice has a plethora of clubs who are said to be interested in securing his services.

Rice recently dismissed West Ham’s latest contract offer, which has alerted a number of clubs to the situation. Alongside Arsenal, Everton, Tottenham, Wolves and Manchester City are said to be keeping an eye on the versatile teenager.

Rice’s former club Chelsea are also said to be interested in their former youth product, while bookmakers are currently naming Tottenham as the most likely destination for Rice.
