Arsenal legend Martin Keown believes Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is well on his way to following in the footsteps of some of the club’s greatest ever strikers.
Speaking to BT Sport following Arsenal’s win against Vorskla Poltava in the Europa League, as quoted by talkSPORT, Keown was full of praise for Aubameyang and hailed his qualities in front of goal.
He’s been a bit of a slow burner but he is getting his confidence again and there’s a certain kind of arrogance about him now and I believe he has got the talent.

This prompted immense praise from Keown, who went as far as claiming that Aubameyang is heading in the direction of iconic Arsenal strikers Ian Wright and Thierry Henry.
There’s a kind of swagger about him and maybe now he will start to believe in himself. I think it’s important for Arsenal to have a player like him, who has that blistering pace and movement. He is following greats like Henry and Wright.
Aubameyang was deployed in his natural central role up front for the Gunners, having been generally utilised as a left winger in Unai Emery’s system.
