Arsenal boss Unai Emery believes Everton will prove to be a difficult task, when his Gunners side host the Blues on Sunday afternoon.
Everton have never won at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League, and haven’t beaten the Gunners away since 1996.
However despite losing in a disappointing performance against West Ham last weekend, Emery believes the Toffees will offer a substantial threat.
On Everton start to the season, as reported by the club’s official website, Emery said:
They have a very big history and a good coach with good players too. Their start has been good with lots of good moments in their games, and other moments like in their last match against West Ham.
They didn’t win that important match [against West Ham] but maybe this is why they can be more dangerous to us because they come here and need to show their supporters that they are better than the last match.
They lost against West Ham and they want to show us, to show their supporters, that they can win here. We need to think about our performance and work hard with respect to Everton, knowing that they have good players and good tactics. We need to impose ourselves on the game.
Emery added that his only experience playing against a Marco Silva side, in Portugal, showed that he was a good coach in the making. He continued:
I played against his one team in Portugal, Estoril. I think that was five years ago. I looked when we were playing and this team were a very good, organised team and with very good coaches.
