Lucas Torreira finally poised to make first Arsenal start

Lucas Torreira is set to start an Arsenal match for the first time, as the Gunners prepare to face Vorskla Poltava on Thursday.

The midfielder has appeared exclusively as a substitute so far this season, but will appear in the starting XI in the Europa League according to the Daily Mail.

Arriving from Sampdoria for a fee of £26 million, the Uruguayan was particularly useful off the bench against Newcastle on Saturday.

Bernd Leno is also expected to make his first Arsenal appearance against the Ukrainian side, after playing backup to Petr Cech thus far in the campaign.

Forward Danny Welbeck is also tipped to make an appearance, as manager Unai Emery seeks to experiment with his squad in midweek clashes.

The North Londoners have endured a mixed start to life under Emery, dropping games against Chelsea and Manchester City whilst beating West Ham, Cardiff, and Newcastle. Despite the wins coming in slightly unconvincing circumstances, Arsenal fans will just be happy to see points on the board, knowing the only way is up.
