# Arsenal remain keen on a deal to sign Cristian Pavon

Arsenal remain keen to sign Cristian Pavon from Boca Juniors, according to a report from [Football London](https://www.football.london/arsenal-fc/news/raul-sanllehi-arsenal-news-gazidis-15169131).

The Gunners were heavily linked with a move for the Argentina international throughout the summer transfer window, but Boca were able to retain their star man’s services.

Barcelona were also believed to have been keen on Pavon but he opted to put pen to paper on a new contract with the Argentine giants in mid-July.

Nevertheless, Arsenal’s interest in signing Pavon from Boca appears to be as strong as ever, with Football London’s report claiming that Raul Sanllehi, the Gunners’ new ‘head of football’, has already staged talks with the club over a potential deal for the winger.

Pavon has, for some time now, been a talismanic figure for Boca Juniors and has cemented his place in the Argentina squad. His development has not gone unnoticed, it seems, with Arsenal’s interest documented again.

The Gunners have a variety of forward options at their disposal already but are threadbare in the wide areas, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang having recently operated in an unnatural left wing position.

It seems Pavon is a concrete target for the Gunners as they continue to strive for success in a new era at the club, led by Sanllehi.
