Arsenal defender Nacho Monreal is giving no immediate consideration to the prospect of retiring from football, the Evening Standard reports.
The Spaniard has been discussing his plans for the future, with Arsenal ready to reward him with a new and improved contract at the club.
Monreal has been linked with a surprise switch to La Liga champions Barcelona, with a move back to his homeland of Spain touted regularly in recent months.
The 32-year-old was quizzed on how long he felt he could continue at the highest footballing level and responded in a confident manner, indicating that he could play for several more years yet.

We will see what happens but I feel good. My idea is to play football until my body says ‘Nacho, so sorry but that’s the end’. But I think it is far away. I hope so.
Monreal has established himself as an important player for Unai Emery at Arsenal, featuring in all four Premier League games so far this season.
Emery has already insisted that he wants to keep Monreal at the club for years to come and it seems the left-back has no intention of hanging up his boots in the foreseeable future.
You never know because your body, sometimes you start with some problems, some injuries and you can’t continue giving 100 per cent. But at the moment I feel good so I am not thinking of my retirement.
