Emery keen to see Arsenal play with ‘personality’ at Newcastle
Arsenal manager Unai Emery is desperate to see his side play with “personality” when they make the long trip up to Newcastle United on Saturday.
Emery, as quoted by the Daily Mail, spoke to the media ahead of his side’s clash against Rafa Benitez’s men and was quick to highlight what is required from his team at St James’ Park.
Firstly we need to win and I think it is very important that in the last match we won. Our aim away at Newcastle on Saturday now is to keep improving things and continue to create our idea, build up our spirit on the pitch, individually and collectively.
Arsenal, after losing their opening two fixtures of the Premier League season, appear to have found their feet under Emery.
The Gunners were able to put a difficult start behind them as they clinched a 3-1 home win against West Ham United before making the trip to Cardiff City, where they came out on top with a 3-2 victory.
Emery, however, has called for focus from his men and has backed Arsenal to continue to impose their ‘personality’ on matches.
Saturday is another step we can do, it will be difficult but I want to continue (to show) our personality on the pitch and impose this personality on the opposition and to find the win.
Arsenal are currently sat in 9th place on the Premier League table and will be desperate to secure their third consecutive win in the top-flight against a struggling Newcastle side.
