Arsenal were ‘close’ to signing PSG youngster Adli this summer
Arsenal were reportedly ‘close’ to completing a deal to sign Paris Saint-Germain youngster Yacine Adli this summer.
According to reports in France from L’Equipe, as cited on Sport Witness, the player emerged as a transfer target for new Arsenal head of recruitment Sven Mislintat.
Adli was said to be close to agreeing a deal to join Arsenal, given that he had not put pen to paper on a professional contract in Paris yet.
However, despite appearing set to join the Gunners, Adli snubbed a move to London and instead signed a professional deal with the Ligue 1 champions.
The report claims that a host of clubs had been looking at Adli over the summer, but opted to remain with his current side after coming through the ranks there.
Sport Witness hint at concerns from the French club that they were going to lose the player, so their ability to keep hold of him on a professional deal will come as a huge boost to the club.
