Nelson discusses how he was given a chance to shine at Arsenal

Reiss Nelson has credited his persistent hard work in training for his rise to prominence at Arsenal in the past year.

As quoted by the Premier League’s official website, Nelson revealed the secrets behind his emergence in the first-team picture in North London, insisting that his work ethic is the main reason behind his success so far.

Every day in training I was challenging myself on something different, and I was getting a lot of feedback on what I need to work on.

Last week, it was confirmed that Nelson had put pen to paper on a new, long-term contract at the Emirates, reflecting his recent development at the club.

It was also revealed that Nelson will spend the duration of the 2018/19 campaign away from Arsenal and out on loan. The promising winger has joined Julian Nagelsmann’s Hoffenheim side, who will be keen to secure Champions League qualification from the Bundesliga again this season.

Nelson broke into the first-team plans of Arsene Wenger last season and featured regularly under Unai Emery in pre-season earlier on in the summer.

And then I was doing it, and it was kind of showing in my game as well. That chance finally came from working really hard.

However, he will now get the chance to express his qualities on the top-flight stage in Germany, with greater first-team opportunities likely to present themselves in the Bundesliga.
