Hoffenheim manager Julian Nagelsmann has been explaining just why he is so keen to complete a loan deal for Arsenal youngster Reiss Nelson.
It’s believed that the Bundesliga club are in active negotiations with the Gunners as they look to recruit Nelson. However, they are facing a race against time, with the window for German clubs slamming shut on Friday evening.
Following the departure of Serge Gnabry – also a former Arsenal youngster – Nagelsmann is keen to add further mobility and flair to his front-line. As quoted by Football London, he sees these qualities in Nelson.

Reiss has similar traits to Serge, which is his pace in one-on-one situations. These are qualities that we don’t have much of in the squad. It was my wish that we replenish those qualities again.
It’s claimed that Arsenal are desperate to ensure that the promising young winger remains at the club for the foreseeable future, with a long-term contract offer tabled.
An initial fee is set to be coughed up by the Hoffenheim, with Football London’s report indicating that Arsenal will receive approximately £400,000 through the loan departure of Nelson should a deal be pushed over the line.
