# Arsenal scout to join up with Henry at Bordeaux

Arsenal scout Gilles Grimandi is set to join up with club legend Thierry Henry, who is closing in on his first job in football management.

[According to RMC, as cited on Get French Football news](https://twitter.com/GFFN/status/1032222513437323265), Grimandi is likely to be part of the deal.

Henry will be paying close attention to his backroom staff as he looks to give himself the best possible chance as he prepares for life in management.

The former Arsenal striker, who had previously been linked with the Gunners job itself, missed out on the chance to replace Steve Bruce at Aston Villa earlier this summer.

Following a takeover at Villa Park, Henry was said to be the leading candidate to replace Bruce, with the new owners looking to bring in their own man, but in the end, they opted to stick with Bruce.

Henry is set to replace Gus Poyet in Bordeaux after the former Sunderland boss was suspended from his role at the club.
