Guendouzi snubbed Dortmund and PSG to complete Arsenal switch

Matteo Guendouzi snubbed interest from Borussia Dortmund and PSG to complete a move to Arsenal this summer, according to a report from Football London.

The Frenchman sealed a move from Ligue 2 side Lorient in the summer transfer window and has been a surprise package under Unai Emery so far.

Guendouzi was expected to be a player who was recruited for the future but instead, he has started in both of Arsenal’s high-profile fixtures against Manchester City and Chelsea in the Premier League.

The promising youngster caught the eye during his first couple of appearances for the Gunners and appears to be destined for big things at the Emirates.

Guendouzi was evidently a player who Arsenal had identified as a long-term target but, as per the report from Football London, he had always set his sights on a move to North London.

Borussia Dortmund were believed to have been keen on a swoop for the 19-year-old. Meanwhile, PSG were also interested in Guendouzi, who had been released from the club’s academy back in 2014.

Emery will hope that Guendouzi can maintain his early-season form throughout the remainder of the campaign.
