Lucas Torreira is primed to make his first start in an Arsenal shirt against Chelsea on Saturday.
The defensive midfielder was named amongst the substitutes in last weekend’s 2-0 defeat to Manchester City, and came on for Granit Xhaka int he second half.

John Cross of the Mirror reports that manager Unai Emery is ready to give Torreira his first start, however.
Speaking in a press conference, Emery said:
Yes, he is okay every day and is training good. He is now with the team and knowing and learning English conversation with us and can understand all the things we want to do tactically on the pitch.
He is okay, the first match against City he played 15-20 minutes and I think this is good, I want to continue with him improving and to be okay to play.
The Uruguayan was signed from Sampdoria for £26 million, and was tipped by many to be the midfield presence the Gunners had lacked in previous unsuccessful campaigns.

Emery started with a midfield three of Xhaka, Aaron Ramsey, and other new signing Matteo Guendouzi.
Torreira may have his work cut out in his first Premier League start, as he could face the new-look Chelsea midfield of N’Golo Kante, Jorginho, and Mateo Kovacic.
