# Arsenal to miss out on Dembele who wants to stay at Barcelona

Arsenal will miss out on a deal to sign Ousmane Dembele this summer, with the player deciding he wants to remain in Barcelona.

[According to Mundo Deportivo, as cited on Metro Sport](https://metro.co.uk/2018/08/08/ousmane-dembele-makes-final-decision-arsenal-transfer-7812333/), Dembele is refusing to give up on his Barcelona career just yet.

There had been some suggestions that the player could join Arsenal on loan with an option to buy before Thursday’s deadline.

The Gunners were hoping to wager a €10 million loan fee with an added €90 million option to buy.

Malcom’s arrival from Barcelona had raised questions about where the former Borussia Dortmund winger would fit in at the Nou Camp.

However, after holding talks with club president Josep Maria Bartomeu, the winger has decided to stay put and fight for his place in the side.

Unai Emery was believed to be keen on bringing in the French winger to add some much-needed creative flair the Arsenal attack.
