# PSG to rival Arsenal in their bid to sign Rodriguez

Arsenal could face competition from PSG in their pursuit of AC Milan left-back Ricardo Rodriguez.

The Gunners have been recently [linked](https://readarsenal.com/2018/08/06/arsenal-eye-late-deal-to-sign-ricardo-rodriguez/) with a move for the Switzerland international, who remains a key player for Gennaro Gattuso’s side as they gear up for the new season.

Following the news that Sead Kolasinac could miss around 10 weeks of action through injury, Unai Emery is believed to be chasing the signing of a new left-sided defender before the window slams shut on Thursday evening.

Rodriguez has reportedly emerged as a target, however, according to claims from France, they will face stiff competition from Ligue 1 champions PSG.

According to TF1, as cited in a report from [GFFN](https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2018/psg-have-enquired-for-ricardo-rodriguez-ac-milan/), the French giants have drawn up a shortlist of four potential left-back targets for the summer transfer window, with Rodriguez prominently featuring.

Arsenal look set to head into the Premier League season with Nacho Monreal and Ainsley Maitland-Niles as their left-sided options in the absence of Kolasinac.
