Roma are said to be making contingency plans in case they fail to land Sevilla man Steven N’Zonzi, and Arsenal’s Granit Xhaka is reportedly among the options under consideration.
The Serie A giants are intent on signing N’Zonzi from Sevilla but appear to be struggling to close a deal with the La Liga outfit.
This has allegedly led them to consider other alternatives to the Frenchman, who has also been heavily linked with a return to the Premier League with Arsenal this summer.

According to Spanish news outlet El Desmarque, as cited by Calciomercato, Xhaka has been identified by Roma as a potential target should their pursuit of N’Zonzi collapse in the near future.
Xhaka only signed a new five-year deal this summer, therefore indicating that Unai Emery regards him as an important cog in his plans ahead of his first season in English football.
However, it seems Roma’s admiration of the player is prevalent, with Xhaka among the options being considered by Eusebio Di Francesco’s side.
