Arsenal and Tottenham have been dealt a blow in their attempts to seal a deal for Andre Gomes with the news that West Ham are holding talks with Barcelona for the player.
According to a report from ESports3, the Hammers have enquired about a deal to sign the Portuguese international.
Both Arsenal and Tottenham are interested in the player, with Unai Emery believed to be a huge admirer of the player.
The two clubs are said to be in discussions over a transfer fee for the central midfielder.
The player has suffered a hamstring injury during Barcelona’s pre-season preparations, but that has not put the London club off a deal.
Gomes is widely expected to leave the Nou Camp this summer after falling out of favour.
He has been unable to cement a place in their starting XI after joining from Valencia.
The La Liga champions are looking to trim both their squad and their wage bill this summer.
The likes of Yerry Mina, Paco Alcacer, Rafinha and Aleix Vidal are also believed to be on the market.
