Arsenal striker urges Ramsey to sign new deal

Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette has urged Aaron Ramsey to sign a new deal with the club, labelling the Welshman a club legend.

Ramsey has entered the final 12 months of his current contract with the Gunners, and while the club are optimistic that he will commit to a new contract soon, Ramsey has been more coy on his future.

The 27-year old midfielder is Arsenal’s longest-serving player, having signed from Cardiff City in 2008, while other long-term Gunners Theo Walcott and Jack Wilshere departed the Emiratesin the last six months,

In his time in North London, Ramsey has carved out a spot in Arsenal’s history books, scoring two FA Cup winning goals and twice picking up Supporters’ Player of the Season Awards.

Lacazette, who joined Arsenal from Lyon last summer, has encouraged Ramsey to put pen to paper and continue to build on his Arsenal legacy. As reported by The Evening Standard, Lacazette said:

Ramsey is really important. Aaron is there for maybe 10 years, he’s a legend in the club so we have to be respectful for everything he has done.

Of course with his quality he can help the team to be better.

He’s an example for all the young players. Of course we need Aaron in the team.
