Arsenal striker poised for Premier League loan offer
Danny Welbeck has emerged as a loan target for Newcastle, as the Magpies join Everton in the race to sign the unwanted Arsenal striker.
According to a report from TEAMtalk, Rafa Benitez’s men could look to swoop in for the player after it was revealed that he does not have a future at Arsenal.
The England international has reportedly been told that he does not feature in Unai Emery’s plans this season.
Welbeck has fallen out of favour at Arsenal in recent years following the arrival of both Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Everton are also said to be in the running to sign Welbeck this summer, but Arsenal would prefer to see the player join Newcastle, who they do not consider direct rivals.
The report claims that Newcastle would be prepared to pay the player’s wages, which are believed to be in the region of £100,000-a-week, despite Benitez working on a small budget this summer.
Newcastle remain interested in West Brom striker Salomon Rondon, but it is yet to be seen if they will activate his relegation release clause.
