According to Goal, French giants AS Monaco have launched a shock bid for Russian midfield maestro Aleksandr Golovin, which has sent London rivals Chelsea and Arsenal into panic as they fight for his signature.
The CSKA Moscow midfielder has been heavily linked for a big move to England following some great displays for Russia at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Golovin impressed tremendously in Russia, scoring a fabulous free kick in the tournament’s opener. As well as providing two assists, being fearless from the spot in Russia’s two penalty shootouts and impressing in the midfield during Russia’s surprise victory over Spain.

Despite interest from Chelsea and Arsenal, it’s Monaco who have tabled an offer for the 22-year-old who’s been attracting interest since the 2017 confederations cup.
Vice-president, Vadim Vasilyev, told Sport-Express:
We made CSKA a proposal for Golovin. I cannot reveal the amount of the transfer, but it is a worthy fee. The duration of the contract? Standard, five years. I think in this situation the transition to Monaco is the most correct option for Golovin.
Arsenal will need to react quickly should they wish to secure the midfielder’s signature with only weeks left of the transfer window.
