# Premier League rivals open contract talks with Arsenal target

Arsenal have been keeping a close eye on Leicester City’s Wilfred Ndidi, but the Foxes are now preparing to open contract talks with the player.

The [Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-5950883/Leicester-ready-offer-Harry-Maguire-new-75-000-week-contract-ward-Manchester-United.html) claims that Arsenal have continued to keep tabs on the Nigerian after missing out on his signature when he originally left Genk.

Arsenal have been admirers of the player for some time and Ndidi has continued to impress during his short time in the Premier League.

There had been some suggestions that Leicester were bracing themselves for interest in the player, but they’re keen to keep hold of him.

Ndidi is currently only believed to be earning around £35,000 a week, something that Arsenal could certainly improve.

The Foxes see him as a valuable squad member as they prepare themselves for another push for European football.

The Nigerian midfielder is one of several players to be linked with moves away from the King Power Stadium with Harry Maguire attracting interest from Manchester United.
