# Milan want Arsenal CEO as new President

AC Milan want Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis to lead the club amid a boardroom shake-up.

The Italian giants are now owned by US hedge fund Elliott Management Corporation, after President Yonghong Li defaulted on his debts, so the holding company was repossessed.

A board meeting on Thursday failed to move proceedings forward, so a new President and Board of Directors will be appointed on July 21.

According to Sky Sports Italia, as cited by [Football Italia](https://www.football-italia.net/124404/milan-want-arsenal-director), Milan have approached Leonardo, Sassuolo’s Giovanni Carnevali and Gazidis.

Gazidis has been Arsenal CEO since 2009, and according to Football Italia, Elliott Management’s founder Paul Singer was turned onto the South African born businessman by his son who is a big fan of the Gunners/
