# Emery addresses speculation about the future of key midfielder

Unai Emery has dropped the biggest hint yet that Aaron Ramsey is set to be a key figure in his Arsenal side going forward.

Speaking to the media, as reported by the [Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/arsenal-press-conference-live-transfers-12904108), Emery expressed his delight to have the Welshman at the Emirates.

> I’m very happy with him. For me, every day, every training session, he has the ambition I want. He’s working with a quality, the type of ability that I want. I want to work with him.

There had been some [suggestions](https://readarsenal.com/2018/07/06/arsenal-set-to-cash-in-on-midfielder-to-fund-gomes-move/) that the Welshman could be moved in a bid to raise funds.

A move for Barcelona’s Andre Gomes has been touted by reports in Spain, but the club would need to sell before they can buy.

The claims had come as a surprise to many, with Ramsey expected to be a key member of Emery’s squad from the moment he was confirmed as Arsene Wenger’s successor.

Emery largely used a 4-3-3 system during his time with Paris Saint-Germain due to the front three of Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Edinson Cavani, but it is yet to be seen how his Arsenal side will line up.
