Lionel Messi has reportedly told Barcelona to sanction a move to sign Arsenal target Cristian Pavon.
According to Diario AS, as cited on Football Espana, Messi is keen to see his fellow countryman join him at the Nou Camp.
Both Barcelona and Arsenal have been heavily linked with the Boca Juniors forward, but Messi is hoping to play a part in the deal.
Given the presence he has at Barcelona, reports have often claimed that Messi can play a big role in the club’s transfer business, recommending players to sign or sell.
Pavon is very highly rated back in Argentina and was named in their World Cup squad this summer.
He featured alongside Messi in a front three throughout their time in Russia and that could happen once again in Spain next season.
Boca are keen to keep Pavon at the club and are reportedly preparing a new deal to ward off any interest from potential suitors.
