The agent of Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina has recently been discussing his client’s future plans.
Arsenal recently completed the signing of Bernd Leno from Bayer Leverkusen, indicating that Ospina will be forced only further down the goalkeeping pecking order at the club.
Petr Cech is likely to act as Leno’s deputy for next season, meaning that Ospina will have to settle for being the third choice or seek an exit from Arsenal.
According to his agent, as cited in a report by Goal, the latter option may well be the case, with Ospina ready to put an end to his tenure in North London.
It’s believed that Argentine giants Boca Juniors have expressed an interest in signing the Colombian international from the Gunners this summer, but the player’s agent Lucas Jaramillo has insisted that the player would prefer to stay in Europe.
We had already considered the Boca option but it is not easy right now economically for a club like Boca to pay that much for a goalkeeper. He would like to come to Boca but it is not the time, we are focused on staying in Europe because he is relatively young.
Ospina is due back for pre-season training at Arsenal at a later date following his involvement in the World Cup with Colombia.
David has two more years left on his contract at Arsenal, he will have to go back now, there is a new coach, a new goalkeeper who has the coach’s confidence so this might be the end of the line.
