Unai Emery has reportedly spoken to Ever Banega over the phone to discuss a move to Arsenal.
According to reports coming out of Spain from Estadio Deportivo, the new Arsenal boss has spoken to the player about the possibility of a switch to London.
The Gunners have been heavily linked with Banega, who has worked with Emery previously at Sevilla.
The player is said to be interested in the idea of a move to the Premier League, but the two clubs are yet to agree on a fee for the player.
Banega’s agent has reportedly held talks with the Gunners, with the player’s future in Sevilla up in the air.
Arsenal are in the market for a new midfielder after it was confirmed that Jack Wilshere is to leave the club and Santi Cazorla has returned to Villarreal for pre-season.
The 29-year-old featured 31 times for Sevilla in La Liga last season, scoring three goals and registered a further three assists.
