Unai Emery intends to give Arsenal outcast a chance to impress
Arsenal manager Unai Emery will reportedly hand Lucas Perez a chance to prove his worth ahead of next season.
It’s claimed by Football London that the Spaniard will afford his compatriot the opportunity to impress in the coming months following his unsuccessful spell at Arsenal so far.
Perez signed for the Gunners only in 2016 but endured a difficult maiden season in English football, with Arsene Wenger opting to use the player only sparingly.
This led to Perez returning to Deportivo La Coruna on a season-long loan just a season after he left the club for a fee thought to be in the region of £17 million.
Perez, who is capable of playing up front as a striker or as a right winger, is sure to face stiff competition for attacking places in the team following the arrivals of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan in January.
The experienced forward will be desperate to impress Emery and resurrect his career at the Emirates.
