Arsenal and Barcelona in race to sign World Cup star
Barcelona have joined Arsenal in the race to sign Aleksandr Golovin, according to reports.
Golovin looks set to leave CSKA Moscow this summer, with a number of clubs interested in him and if his performances at the World Cup are anything to go by, it’s easy to see why he’s a man in demand.
The 22-year-old has been one of Russia’s standout players as they’ve won two games, securing their place in the last 16 with one match still to play.
Arsenal have been long-time admirers of the midfielder and are constantly being linked with a post-World Cup move for him.
However, Barcelona are now said to be interested in signing the Russian international, which could throw a spanner in the works.
Chelsea are also reportedly keen to sign Golovin, but the instability at Stamford Bridge looks like it had led to the Blues stalling on any potential deals up to this point.
