Arsenal are set to hold talks with the agent of Sevilla midfielder Ever Banega this week.
According to The Mirror, Arsenal plan to discuss a deal for Banega as Unai Emery looks to strengthen his midfield options.
It was revealed on Tuesday that Jack Wilshere will not be handed a new contract and will leave upon the expiry of his deal at the end of the month.
This leaves a gap in the squad, with Emery keen to replace Wilshere with Banega.
Arsenal have already completed two deals so far this window, with Stephan Lichtsteiner and goalkeeper Bernd Leno.arriving at The Emirates.
Lucas Torreira is expected to join the club in the coming days as well, with Arsenal having agreed a deal with Sampdoria for the Uruguayan international.
Banega is currently at the World Cup in Russia with Argentina, but was limited to a substitute role in their opening game against Iceland.
