Arsenal considering move for French international
Arsenal are considering a move for French international Benjamin Pavard this summer.
According to Football London, Pavard is among a group of defenders that Arsenal are looking at.
Sevilla’s Clement Lenglet and Mainz’s Abdou Diallo are also thought to be options for Arsenal.
Pavard is currently at the World Cup in Russia plying his trade for France, who won their opening match 2-1 against Australia.
The 22-year-old played in central defence for Stuttgart in the Bundesliga last season, but is being deployed as a right-back for France.
Arsenal manager Unai Emery is eager to strengthen his defence and is thought to be closing in on the signing of Sokratis from Borussia Dortmund.
Pavard impressed in the Bundesliga last season and would command a reasonable fee should Arsenal look to further pursue a deal.
Stephan Lichtsteiner and Bernd Leno have already completed moves to Arsenal so far this transfer window.
