Arsenal are reportedly keen on a summer deal for Toulouse defender Issa Diop, but look set to miss out on his signature as West Ham close in on a transfer.
The young Frenchman enjoyed yet another fine season in his homeland of France with Toulouse, attracting interest from a whole host of clubs across Europe.
Calciomercato, who cite L’Equipe, claim that Arsenal are among the clubs who have expressed a desire to recruit Diop this summer.
However, it appears as though the Gunners may have joined the race for Diop’s signature too late in the day, with Manuel Pellegrini’s new side close to completing a deal stated to be worth €25 million.
Diop has long been dubbed as one of France’s brightest young talents and it seems after seasons worth of speculation, he is finally set to secure a move to the Premier League.
Unai Emery has been eyeing promising central defenders since his arrival, with Freiburg star Caglar Soyuncu targeted.
