Arsenal and Spurs could snap up ‘mini-Messi’ for nothing this summer

Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool are all being linked with a move for Sporting youngster Ryan Gauld.

Team Talk claim that the Premier League trio are all interested in the player, who has been called the ‘Scottish mini-Messi’ in the past.

Gauld could leave Sporting for nothing this summer following an attack on the club’s training ground which left players injured.

Members of the squad are now pushing to terminate their contract, following in the footsteps of Rui Patricio, who looks set to sign for Wolves.

Gauld joined Sporting in 2014 from Scottish side Dundee United. The youngster earned plenty of plaudits in Scotland but turned down interest from England to move abroad to Europe.

However, it has not quite panned out as Gauld would have hoped. He has made just a handful of appearances for Sporting’s first team and has seen most of his football out on loan or in the reserve side.
