AC Milan enter race for key Arsenal target

AC Milan are reportedly interested in signing Arsenal target Gelson Martins, according to TalkSPORT.

Martins is amongst several Sporting Lisbon players who have asked for their contracts in the Portuguese capital to be terminated, after the squad were attacked at their training ground.

The 23-year-old had already been linked with a move to one of Europe’s biggest clubs prior to the fiasco in Lisbon, and now is now all-but certain to play his football elsewhere next season.

Arsenal have been reported to be the front-runners to land the winger, although it seems AC Milan are equally keen on Martins.

The Gunners are seeking to add to an already impressive attacking stash, which can boast Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette, and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Martins appeared in 47 games for his club last season, scoring 11 goals and providing nine assists.

An incredibly pacey forward, Martins has 16 Portugal caps, attained since he started playing for the national side in 2016.
