Arsenal have appointed former midfielder Freddie Ljungberg as their new Under-23 coach, according to the club’s official website.
In the past, he has also been a coach of the club’s Under-15s and the Under-19s side following his retirement from the game.
Last year he went out to Germany to become the assistant coach at Bundesliga side Wolfsburg but decided to leave after they narrowly escaped relegation from the German top division.

His new role will officially start at the beginning of next month as he looks to build some more stars of the future for the first-team squad.
The Swedish midfielder played close to 400 matches in all competitions throughout his career, netting more than 50 goals in that time.
The new Under-23 coach at the club has been speaking following taking over his new role at Arsenal.
I’m delighted to be returning to the club. Arsenal has always been a special place for me and I’m really excited at this opportunity to work with our under-23 team.
