Arsenal legend backs Belgian for Gunners switch

Arsenal legend Robert Pires has backed Manchester United midfielder to be a success if he moves to the Emirates on a free deal this summer, according to the Mirror.

His contract comes to an end this summer and many people think that he will be leaving to join Arsenal when his deal comes to an end.

The 30-year-old is set to play a key part in Belgium’s World Cup squad this summer so it’s likely that his future will be resolved at the end of the tournament.

The United man is rumoured with a number of other clubs, but it seems as though North London is likely to be his next destination.

This move seems strange given the Gunners play a different style of play to the Manchester United man.

Former Arsenal midfielder Robert Pires has had his say on the situation admitting that he feels that the Belgian would be a good fit for his former club:

Why not? Everybody knows Marouane Fellaini in the Premier League.

Of course last season it was very, very difficult, the relation with Jose Mourinho.

But I think he’s a good player, if he wants to join Arsenal I think it would be good news.
